FROM THE TWADDLE FAMILY |
|
Hi all-- Just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for all of the help that you provided us in putting on last weekend's tournament. Without you guys we would not be able to do it. Also pass on to both teams how proud our family is of them--they truly are a great group of young men. I was so happy to see them both win their respective levels and observe how well they conducted themselves during the entire weekend---good parenting and coaching!!! On another note, I wanted to extend a special thanks for allowing us to maintain a connection with the youth hockey community--we really do enjoy it!!! We are already looking forward to next year!! The Family of John Twaddle--Mike, Linda and Jennifer
THANK YOU TO ALL ERYHA VOLUNTEERS THAT HELPED MAKE ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL TOURNAMENT HAPPEN!

USA Hockey recommends:
- Providing individual water bottles for players and not sharing water bottles. - Regularly washing hands. - Cleaning workout gear for each practice/competition. - Keeping gloves on during the traditional handshake with opponents.
Individuals with influenza may develop typical signs or symptoms, including: fever (102 degrees fahrenheit or greater), cough, muscle aches, runny nose, headache or sore threat, with the potential for more serious complications, including pneumonia.
This year's influenza virus strain has particularly affected children and young adults. Transmission of the influenza virus may occur from the day before the onset of symptoms and during the five-to-seven days that the symptoms are present.
Infected individuals should stay home until signs and symptoms have resolved, with no fever present for at least 24 hours. The 24-hour no-fever timeline should be achieved naturally, without the aid of fever reducing medications.
Additional information regarding H1N1 is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

MINNESOTA HOCKEY - PARENTS PAGE |
|
Parents, did you know that there were 35,324 boys and 8,361 girls registered to play youth hockey in Minnesota last season? Did you kow that there were about 6,200 boys and 3,900 girls playing high school hockey? Did you know that there were about 250 Minnesota boys and about 95 Minnesota girls on D1 college hockey rosters? Did you know there were 20 Minnesota born players in the NHL and that the first professional women's team in Minnesota began only this year?
The chances of your son or daughter getting a D1 college scholarship is minute. The chances of your son or daughter playing professional hockey are miniscule.
While children can and should have dreams they, and you, should understand the long odds that exist. They, and you, should also understand the hours and years of hard work involved beyond scheduled practices and games in order to make those dreams come true.
Please visit our Hockey Education Program (HEP) page to learn more about keeping youth hockey and youth sports in general in perspective.
Hockey should be fun for kids, not work! After all, it is a game.
