ERYHA Mission Statement

Our association seeks to provide a community and volunteer-driven program to promote the growth and development of all our players. Our association works to promote a fun, fair and safe environment that maximizes participation and improves players' skills while developing sportsmanship, teamwork and self-confidence.

	ERYHA IS IN THE SHERBURNE COUNTY PARADE!
	Help us to promote youth hockey! All boys and girls are welcome! Friday July 17th! We will have 2 floats again this year. One for the boys teams and one for the girls. Anyone interested in participating should bring a bag of candy and roller blades (optional, but a helmet is required for anyone roller blading). Wear your hockey jersey! We will have a supply of traveling jerseys available for those that don't have one. ADULT HELP NEEDED TOO! Water will be provided! Line up starting at 5:30, parade at 6:30! We are spots #29 and 30! Make sure your kids are there by 6pm! We will be starting somewhere on Main Street between Lake Orono and downtown!

	ELK RIVER GOLF TOURNAMENT IS COMING SOON
	SIGN UP EARLY!!! BEFORE JULY 17TH AND GET $10 OFF FEE Please join us for dinner and dancing! - 4:30 pm Social Hour - 5:30 pm Dinner - 8:00 pm ~ 12am DJ -12 pm Registration - Free Range Balls - 1 pm Shotgun Start - Golf Cart Tournament will be a four-person scramble format. Registration is limited to the first 144 golfers, so enter early! If you want to golf, but are unable to get a foursome, you may enter as an individual, two-some or three-some. 	ERYHA PLAYER ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
	Coaches and Managers The following awards are an incentive for your players and should be taken advantage of: ZERO AWARD - an award presented to a goalkeeper for playing a complete game without allowing a goal. HAT TRICK AWARD - an award presented to a player for scoring three goals in a game. PLAYMAKER AWARD - an award presentd to a player for registering three assists in a game. These awards are distributed under the following conditions: The recipient is a registered player. The game was in league competition, meaning a sanctioned tournament or a MN Hockey playoff game involving only registered USA Hockey teams. This does not include scrimmages or exhibition games. The game was officiated by a registered USA Hockey Referee. Eligible player categories include all players Squirt and above. A copy of the scoresheet must be supplied with the application. No pathces will be awarded fo games in which to goal difference is 10 or greater (i.e. 10-2, 12-2, etc.) There is a limit to one of each award per player per season. Mail requests withthe recap of names and awards earned for the current season to: Carol Carlson, 1411 Lookout Street, Stillwater, MN 55082. Please allow 10-14 days for processing. Be sure to include your return address. the form to submit to Ms. Carlson is received by the head coach of each team at the MANDATORY District 10 coaches/manager meeting in November. It is suggested, but not required, that you keep these awards and hand them out at the year end team banquet. See the FORMS section for a copy of the form.

	MINNESOTA HOCKEY - PARENTS PAGE
	Parents, did you know that there were 35,324 boys and 8,361 girls registered to play youth hockey in Minnesota last season? Did you kow that there were about 6,200 boys and 3,900 girls playing high school hockey? Did you know that there were about 250 Minnesota boys and about 95 Minnesota girls on D1 college hockey rosters? Did you know there were 20 Minnesota born players in the NHL and that the first professional women's team in Minnesota began only this year? The chances of your son or daughter getting a D1 college scholarship is minute. The chances of your son or daughter playing professional hockey are miniscule. While children can and should have dreams they, and you, should understand the long odds that exist. They, and you, should also understand the hours and years of hard work involved beyond scheduled practices and games in order to make those dreams come true. Please visit our Hockey Education Program (HEP) page to learn more about keeping youth hockey and youth sports in general in perspective. Hockey should be fun for kids, not work! After all, it is a game.
