ERYHA VOLUNTEER DEFINITION

The Elk River Youth Hockey Association typically requires each family to fulfill a certain number of volunteer hours each year as defined by the ERYHA Board of Directors. This volunteer requirement is necessary for the Association to function as well as to fulfill district and regional obligations. It is the ERYHA Board’s responsibility to ensure that volunteer opportunities exist to enable each family to fulfill their obligation. Below is a list of what does and does not qualify as a volunteer activity:

Would qualify:               1. Registration

2. Tryouts

3. Tournaments (Association sponsored, districts, regions)

4. Minor Official Duties (penalty box, score book, clock during regular league  games/scrimmages)

5. Head Coaches

6. Assistant Coaches (3 per team as designated by the head coach)

7. Traveling Team Managers (1 per team)

8. Board members

9. Board approved activities such as SKATE Banquet, ERYHA Golf Tournament, fundraising.

10. Sponsorship at the $500 level or above.

11.  Banner design/creation

Would not qualify:         1. Team optional volunteer duties such as filling water bottles, banner duties,                                          team photographer.

EACH FAMILY MUST COMPLETE 15 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER TIME.  YOU WILL NEED A PIN NUMBER TO REGISTER AND RECEIVE CREDIT FOR VOLUNTEER HOURS.   ONCE VERIFICATION OF VOLUNTEERING HAS BEEN RECEIVED, YOUR FAMILY'S ACCOUNT WILL BE CREDITED FOR HOURS PERFORMED AND THE SYSTEM WILL DISPLAY THE BALANCE REMAINING.   If you do not register, hours cannot be credited.

The listing below contains Volunteer Opportunities that you can sign up for. If you are inerested in an Opportunity, please call or email the Contact person listed.   Minor official duties (box, book, clock) are only for those who have a skater on that team, so please choose your opportunity carefully.  You cannot cross over to work hours on a team other than your child's unless it is a home tournament with hours available.

Need a Pin Number?:

    Each family will be assigned one Pin Number that they will use for as many years as they have players playing for the association. Once you have requested a Pin Number, and one has been assigned, you cannot be assigned another number. If you have previously been assigned a Pin Number, and have forgotten that number, Click Here to have your Pin Number emailed to you. If you still need a Pin Number, and one has not yet been assigned to your family, Click Here and complete the form to request a Pin Number. Please note that you must have an email address to submit a Pin Number.

To Volunteer for a Tournament or Scheduled Event:

  1. Select the desired Event from the drop-down box.
  2. Enter your Family Last name and your Pin Number.
  3. Click the Request Opportunities button. This displays all posted volunteer positions for the selected tournament.
  4. Find the position, date and time for which you want to volunteer. Click on Volunteer?.
  5. Adjust your name if required and click on Submit Request.
  6. Once accepted, the opportunity will immediately appear in your famiy status report.
